(The Vank Cathedral located in the New Julfa district of Isfahan Iran)
This is the Armenian Orthodox Christian cathedral known as The Holy Savior Cathedral in Iran and is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen. It was built in the mid 1660’s and is also known as the Vank (which means “Monastery” in Armenian. Although it was built by Armenian Orthodox Christians, today thousands of Christians from varying sects (including Catholics and Protestants) from the region worship in the cathedral each week. The cathedral is also located in the beautiful Isfahan region which is famous for its breathtaking landscapes and architecture.
Below I have posted a couple of photo’s of the inside of this beautiful and spiritual building.
